True beauty.

I just received a calling to work with the Special Needs Mutual as a youth counselor and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. I work with young women and young men of all different ages with all different disabilities but one thing that they all have in common is they have the Spirit of Christ with them and they truly shine. It is so incredible to go every week and to feel of their spirits and to see the light that they posses. One of my favorite memories since being called was "The Fashion Show." We made dresses for the young women out of plastic tablecloths, patterned duct tape, ribbons, bows, and stickers and helped them fill out a questionnaire where they were asked questions such as, what is your favorite color and what is your favorite food. They were also asked spiritual questions such as why does your Heavenly Father love you? and when do you feel closest to the Lord? Watching these young women walk down that runway, feeling so beautiful, twirling, smiling, and laughing hearing their simple yet powerful testimonies helped me to see what true beauty is. True beauty is the light of Christ that one posses. It is the light that shines through you and the knowledge that you never walk alone.
